Later in the afternoon of the next day, everything works perfectly. Here's the car at fire-up time.
Don't think things went smoothly. Several wires or their terminals were modified. Also the alternator didn't work right at first test. Yep, Linda turned on the battery and I stood by at the alternator. I heard a pop, then the new wire got hot. OFF! I shouted. Then I rebuilt the alternator,,, again. The problem was a left-off insulator washer on the ground side of the rectifier. No damage. The engine is seen running well and everything is working including the alternator. Whew-Whew!
